The living room edit

Start with the thing you sit on.

A sofa sets the size of everything else in the room. Choose it first, then the floor under it and the surface within reach — warm neutrals, honest materials, no showroom gloss.

The tables edit

The surface everything ends up on.

A coffee table earns its floor space by being the right height and the right reach. Solid wood, rounded edges, nothing that fights the sofa it sits in front of.

The storage edit

Everything has somewhere to go.

Sideboards and cabinets that hold what a room accumulates. The room stays calm because the clutter has an address, not because you own less.

The five questions we actually get

How do I know a sofa will fit?

Measure the wall it goes against, then measure the door it has to come through — the second one is what catches people out. Every listing gives overall width, depth and height, and for sectionals the depth of the chaise separately. Leave 30 to 36 inches for a walkway in front of it.

Does it come assembled?

Most of it does not, and we would rather say so. Case pieces like sideboards and bookcases arrive flat with the hardware in the box; sofas and sectionals usually need legs attached and modular pieces clipped together. The listing states it under assembly — if it is not stated, assume some assembly.

What is the wood, really?

Solid wood, veneer over engineered board, and laminate all get called wood. We name which one on every piece. Solid takes a scratch and can be sanded; veneer looks the same and costs less but cannot be sanded back; laminate is the most forgiving with water. None of them is wrong — they are just different tradeoffs.

How does delivery work on something this big?

Flat $6.90, free on 2+ items or over $150, out the door in one business day and 2 to 7 days to arrive. Large items ship freight and the carrier calls to arrange a window — that adds a few days, and it is curbside, not into the room.

Will the color match what I see on screen?

Close, not exact. Every screen is calibrated differently, and a fabric or a wood grain changes with the light it sits in — the same gray reads warmer under a lamp and cooler by a north window. That is why we name the color and the material on every piece. If it arrives wrong for the room, you have 30 days.
